Just a quick shot

Well okay, there are two shots, but how could I choose between them? I may be a bit bias, but those are two cute kids!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Finn has started T-Ball this year and I have started going to the first of many games throughout his childhood. Brian is coaching his team and I think that they are both really enjoying it. Finn has talked about playing baseball for several years and always told him that when he was a big boy he would get to play. I guess that means he is a big boy now, at least that is what he tells me all the time.
Finn takes the field. It is so cute when the ball is hit. The entire team is in the field and when the ball is hit the entire team chases it down, even the first basemen. Sometimes it reminds me more of football than baseball.

Finn prepares to bat. He really likes wearing the batting helmet. He also really likes drinking the juice in the dugout during his teams batting time.

Up to bat!

Taking a break while running the bases to talk to the other team's third basemen, who also must be taking a break. I wonder what they are talking about?

May Day Baskets

When I was little we used to make and deliver May Day baskets to our friends. We would get up early, fill our baskets with popcorn, lilacs and other goodies and deliver them around town. We were so excited to ring the door bell and run or drive away fast. When we were finished we'd celebrate our work with donuts before school. Not many people carry on this tradition today, at least not in our town, but we have found a couple people to share the fun with. Finn was thrilled to both give and receive his baskets. Lucie even received a couple baskets with special baby items. I love passing on the traditions that my parents instilled in me to my own babies, I hope they do the same someday.
Finn was so proud of his baskets. He picked out everything that went into them and loved the gummi worms. He also made one for his cousin, Quinnie, but he delivered it earlier. These were the baskets he delivered to the girls in town.
Here is Lucille with her pretty May Day bow.
