A little Get Away

Brian had a work meeting out of town so we decided to go with him for a mini vacation.  My cousin and his family live where were going so we decided to meet up with them.  We had a fun time swimming, shopping and visiting the Science Station.  It was nice to get away for a couple days.

My Little Valentines

We tried a little Valentine shoot to get a few pictures of the kid's valentine clothes.  My friend, Emily, made Lucie's outfit and I love it!  I wish I had the talent to make clothing, but having a good friend who does and cares enough to make my baby things is wonderful.  I have to say that Lucille was not the best behaved for her photo shoot.  She has gotten a bit determined lately and makes it well known if she doesn't feel like taking pictures, or eating, or getting out of the bath, taking a nap, riding in her car seat, having her diaper changed, leaving her brother's toys alone, not standing on things, well you get the idea.  Finn did great and we got his adorable picture in one try.

Pretty Girl

So she may not have lots of hair, but it is coming in.  I am loving getting to fix a little girl's hair.  There are so many sweet bows, clips, barettes!  A fun perk of being Mommy to a baby girl.

Finn's Favorite Things

Finn and I worked on making a book of his favorite things.  He told me that he wanted those things online too.  I find it so strange that young children understand what "online" means, but of course he does.  So here are Finn's current favorite things:

*  Stinky the Garbage Truck
*  Trains and making tracks, especially when his little sister is asleep and can't mess them up
*  Chocolate, peanut butter and cheese
*  His blue striped shirt from GAP that he picked out himself
*  Dinosaurs and Dino Dan
*  Phineas and Ferb
*  His mini Buzz, Woody and Jessi- he sleeps with them clutched in his hands
*  Playing outside in the snow, but so excited for Spring
*  Creating things from boxes- plane, robots, etc
*  Remote control cars
*  Legos
*  Llama, Llama books
*  Preschool, says it is awesome  :)

Pizza Fun

Finn and Hannah had lots of fun making these pizzas using their first initial.  The babies enjoyed eating them!

Sledding Fun

With all the snow we have had you would think that we would have been able to go sledding everyday, but it has been so cold.  We did brave the cold a couple times and took both kids sledding.  Well, Finn went sledding and Lucie just sat in her sled.

Ya Got a Friend In Me

Finn has been a Toy Story fan for many years.  We have about every toy ever made, have had several Toy Story parties, can recite large chunks of movie dialog and through it all Woody has been his faithful friend.  They play together, eat together, once took a bath together and sleep together.  My favorite memory of Finn and Woody are when I caught Finn painting the bottom of his boot, just like in the movie.  Notice he also has Buzzlight year jammies on.

11 Months

Our sweet little Lucille is 11 months, I can hardly believe she will soon be one year.  This year has flown by in a blur.  I wish I could hold onto it and keep her a little baby awhile longer.  Lucie is still very sweet and gives her babies kisses.  She waves bye bye, says mama and dada, does "so big" and is taking her first steps.  She is a very wild walker, taking big, crazy steps willing herself across the floor.  She wants so badly to keep up with her brother and is determained not to let something like walking her keep her back.  She will propel herself from whatever she has pulled up on and then lunges across the room before taking as many as steps as she can before crashing to the ground.  She gives me a couple heart attacks a day and has a forehead of bruises.  I love this pretty yellow sweater she is wearing, such a happy color for a happy baby.  The sweater was a baby gift from her Great Aunt Sally.

I just love it when Finn refers to Lucie as "our baby", it melts my heart.  She still will not hold her own bottle, but why would she need to with this great little helper.

2011

I realize that we are now two and a half months into the year of 2011, but I am having a little trouble keeping up with blogging so Happy New Year!  We began New Year's Eve with a trip to The Children's Museum to celebrate a noon balloon drop.  Finn thought this was pretty fun.  Then we came home prepared for our little party, played games and relaxed.  We had friends join us for our New Year's Eve party and we counted down at 11:00 since we were dealing 7 children 5 and under.  We were impressed they lasted that long.  I was so happy this New Years to be celebrating with two children.  Last New Years I was 9 months pregnant and the year before that I had a miscarriage, so this was a very happy New Years for us.  I felt very blessed.
